WHAT ELSE IS INCLUDED?
Your old Enscape account is now a Chaos account. Both license Admins/owners and users can use their existing credentials for both the product and the My Chaos portal.
LISCENCE KEYS: from this stage forward there will be no more License keys when you purchase new subscriptions. If you have existing license keys, they will continue to work until your subscription expires. You can find your existing license keys in My Chaos. Another option is that you can add additional seats to your existing subscriptions and use them with the same license key. Sign In is used instead.
LISCENCE TERMS: Enscape License terms remain the same as stated on the website when purchasing, and as accepted during product installation. Fixed license can be used by one user on one device at a time. Floating licenses can be used by many users, just one at a time
EXISTING USERS ON ENSCAPE 4.0 OR OLDER VERSIONS
Due to the recent update of Enscape moving onto Enscape 4.1, Chaos is allowing more time for their customers to choose whether to proceed or to remain on 4.0 or older versions for the sake of simplicity. Therefore there is no need to change anything – 4.0 will simply work.
You can continue using your existing installations with your existing license keys or username/password. Account admins can use My Enscape credentials to log in to My Chaos, no changes to organizations are required and the same users appear in the My Chaos Organization (as members/guests) All licenses (and license keys) are assigned to the admin in My Chaos Users can use Enscape 4.0 with their accounts (member, guest or admin account) – no changes in assignment needed to Use 4.0 with a key and it will work. Assigning the licenses from a key to the users will work, but the key will have no licenses.
COMPANIES WITH FIXED LISCENCES
Fixed licenses need to be assigned to individual users in comparison to floating seats. Users can create a Chaos account. The License owner invites them to the organization License owner assigns each user with a license Users can then use Enscape with their Chaos/Enscape account Companies with Fixed Licenses Enscape Licensing Changes 31 July 2024 Enscape 4.1 release Software application Can run on any machine Can run on a dedicated machine if needed Makes licenses available to the user’s device
COMPANIES WITH FLOATING SEATS (2-10 )
Sharing floating licenses among employees in one physical location:
On the first machine, install Enscape and log in with the license owner credentials.
For each subsequent installation, select Advanced and enter the IP address of the first machine. If a user needs to remotely access the license outside the physical location:
Assign an individual seat to the user. Once the license is no longer needed, it can be returned to the shared pool of licenses.
Use 4.0 while we work on fixing the floating behavior
FLOATING LICENSE SETUP FOR LARGER TEAMS(10+ USERS )
Larger teams can benefit from several features: Unified login experience for all Chaos products. Optional integration with your corporate sign-in provider (OpenID Connect, Azure AD, PingFederate) For those sharing floating licenses among employees in one physical location: Install a license server and configure Enscape product installations to point to it within the corporate network For remote access to the license server: Set up a Chaos License Server within the corporate network. Use the existing VPN infrastructure to access it remotely Users can access the Chaos license server without a VPN by creating a firewall exception for the specific IP and port or installing the License Server in the DMZ/edge network zone.
