The Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) platform provides a secure, cloud-based document management system that addresses your needs across all stages of the design, construction, and facility management processes.

Autodesk Build, in particular, offers a comprehensive suite of tools that can be utilised in the construction, commissioning, and as-built phases to enhance project management. Build enables you to efficiently manage document control, safety procedures, markups, RFI’s, issue tracking (punchlist), signoff and commissioning processes in an easily accessible, secure, single point of truth.
Let’s explore some of Build’s core features.
Autodesk Build Assets enables the tracking of all stages of design, pricing, installation, commissioning, and sign-off on any element in your project.
Assets can be generated in bulk or quickly extracted from 3D Models and updated from the field using the ACC Mobile App.
You can group your Assets into categories and sort them into systems for the management of multiple Assets using any criteria that suits your project.
Assets form part of the interlocked matrix of information relating to your project.

You can create a library of customised Forms in your projects that can be used by project members for observations, safety forms, compliance and sign-off of Assets.
Conditional logic in Forms ensures specific responses from the user trigger the requirement for data, photos, or a signature to be added to the Forms.
Forms are managed at a hub level, allowing for the propagation of new Forms or revisions to existing forms across all your live projects in ACC.

In the field, your team has access to the latest documents and can view and work on any assigned Forms or other Build tasks.
The commissioning team completes and digitally signs off Forms when the Assets are inspected. They can add photos and other supporting items to augment the information in the Form.

In addition to Build’s built-in functionality, Cadgroup can provide custom automations in your Build projects that trigger various activities based on your established workflows.
These automations streamline your processes, fostering consistency and certainty for your project members.
In one recent project, Cadgroup utilised automation in several ways to enhance the commissioning of plant installations.
In this example, the process starts with the automatic creation of a specific Form type when an Asset is marked for pre-commissioning.
As the Assets are signed off in one stage and their status is updated, the relevant Form is generated for the subsequent stage of that Asset type and is assigned to the responsible team member. An automatic notification email is also sent to them.
When a Form is completed, the automation saves the Form to ACC and SharePoint, adding it to the client’s document register.

Cadgroup has successfully implemented integrations with Autodesk Construction Cloud Cost Management for the past several years, connecting it with leading ERP and accounting platforms, including Xero, Acumatica, and NetSuite.
These integrations enable customers to manage operational processes in ACC Cost Management, including projects, budgets, contracts, assets, and payments, while automatically syncing financial data into their ERP systems for review, reconciliation, and payment processing.
ACC automations are deployed automatically when any future projects are created. New members can be added to projects with a suitable role, which will incorporate them into any relevant automation workflows.
ACC Build offers a comprehensive suite of tools that assist your team throughout the preconstruction, construction and commissioning stages of a project. Cadgroup Australia can work with your team to create further efficiencies and certainty in your projects by building custom automations that suit your specific requirements.
