What’s New In Revit 2024?

Autodesk has continued their improvement of Revit with a wide range of enhancements, tweaks, and new features to appeal to a wide range of users.

Immediately obvious are the visual enhancements in the interface, (yeah, Dark mode!), but looking deeper you’ll find some useful productivity tools which include the added Scope box Height Parameter, resizable Row Heights in Schedules, schedulable Revision Clouds and the ability to use the Align tool to manipulate just one Face of geometry or all faces of the geometry at once. You will also appreciate nice time saving features such as the ability to select multiple Views in the Project Browser and let Revit arrange them nicely on the Sheet.

Join Mark Kelly as we explore the new features through a real time demonstration.

Perhaps the most dramatic change though, and one which we’ll spend a bit of time on, is the change to representation of Topography by a new object called a Toposolid. Toposolids can be manipulated like a solid mesh, and we can add points and Split Lines, as we would a Floor.
As we’ll see, this new object offers some real enhancements over the Toposurface including the ability to make complex changes to the surface by adding or cutting using In-Place Families.
We can still Grade Topo’s to get cut & Fill data. We can still Sub-Divide the Toposolid to define areas with different Materials and these Subdivisions now have a thickness. Toposolids have a real depth and can have layered construction to represent construction and / or strata below the surface.
