IMPORTANT: Three Autodesk policy changes you need to know

We understand that you may have some questions about Autodesk’s new licensing policy, and Cadgroup Australia would like to clarify these licensing changes.
There are three Autodesk policy changes you need to know:

  • End of perpetual licenses for individual & suite products
  • Network license change
  • Renewal on time – no more late payments

End of perpetual licenses for individual & suite products

The option to purchase new perpetual licenses of Autodesk products will end as of:
31 January 2016 – Most individual products
31 July 2016 – Most Autodesk Design & Creation Suites and additional individual products

Your choices for your Autodesk software licenses:
1) Buy perpetual licenses while they are still available until 31 January 2016 & 31 July 2016
2) Access desktop subscription options

Note: You can continue to renew your existing licenses that are on current maintenance subscription providing you renew on time.

Network license change

You will not be able to add network activation to existing licenses after the sale of perpetual license has ceased. Individual products that you wish to network will need to be networked prior to Jan 31 2016 while suite products that you wish to network will need to be networked prior to July 31 2016. You will not be able to convert a standalone license (SLM) to a network license (NLM) after the retirement date of the perpetual product or suite.

Renewal on time – no more late payments

Why it’s more important than ever to renew on time! Beginning February 1, 2016, all subscriptions, including Maintenance Subscription, MUST be renewed “ON TIME. Autodesk will no longer allow you to “late renew” your subscription. If you do not renew on time, you will lose your subscription benefits, and will need to purchase a new contract (Desktop Subscription, or a Design & Creation Suite with Maintenance Subscription). This new policy aligns Maintenance Subscription with Desktop Subscription and Cloud Service Subscription policies, making it easier for you to manage your subscription contracts. The best path for you is to ensure you simply renew ON TIME.
