What is new in Revit 2020

New and enhanced Revit® building design software features support consistent, coordinated, and complete modeling for multidiscipline design that extends to detailing and construction.

Path of Travel

Revit 2020 can use route analysis to calculate distance and time of travel from one point to another point in the model.

Once the start and end points are selected, Revit 2020 will draw the Path of Travel Line after analysing the model. The Path of Travel Line is a view-based element, and it can be found in the Visibility/Graphic menu under Lines:

Path of Travel Lines can be scheduled:

Path of Travel Lines can be filtered:

Path of Travel Lines can be updated once the design is revised, select the path and click the update button in the modify ribbon:

PDF Insert:

Revit 2020 added support for PDF files in the Insert tab, if the PDF inserted has multiple pages, user can select which page to be inserted:

After the PDF is inserted, user can Enable Snaps and Revit 2020 will snap to the vector objects inside the PDF insert:

Copy a Legend View

You can copy a legend view from one sheet view and paste it to another sheet view. Copy the Legend, select Align to Selected Views, and the legend will be pasted onto multiple sheets in one go:

Elliptical Walls

Revit 2020 now introduced the much anticipated Ellipse tool in the Draw Panel:

Temperate dimensions are shown on the long and short axis for the ellipse:

Curtain panels created by drawing ellipse walls will still be faceted:
