Autodesk Inventor – Quick Start Guide to create your own Project File

Still using Default.ipj for your Inventor projects? This guide shows you how to create your own project file so that all your Inventor data is in one location. This will also pave the way for future customisations of your Templates, Styles, Materials and Appearances.

Thats it! Four steps is all it took. We haven’t made any customisations to Styles, Templates, Materials and Appearances yet, but this is a good starting point – ensuring any future customisations we make are all located here, and no modifications are made to the out-of-the-box configuration. There’s a whole heap of other customisations you can make, and we’ll cover those in subsequent blog posts.

Now, just make sure that you use this IPJ file whenever you work with Inventor, and you should be good to go.
